QUEEN’S PARK — Today Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett announced the Ontario government is putting people first by investing in Highways 3 and 6 to improve traffic safety in Haldimand and Norfolk.
Locally, in Haldimand-Norfolk, approved projects are road rehabilitation on: Highway 3 from Tillsonburg to Delhi, Highway 3 from Renton to Simcoe, Highway 3 from Hald. Rd. 56, Canfield, and the Caledonia bypass on Highway #6.
This funding is part of a $1.3 billion investment in transportation projects announced March 27, 2019 by Jeff Yurek, Minister of Transportation.These projects will help create jobs for Ontario’s construction industry and help keep our highways reliable so that our province has a transportation network that encourages job creation, investment and trade.
“As our government manages Ontario’s finances in a responsible manner, we are protecting services that matter most, including road maintenance,” Yurek said. “No matter what the service, policy, program or investment, our government puts people at the heart of our decision making. This funding is a clear example of that commitment. We are working to improve road safety for all Ontarians.”
