Buy your hunting license early

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Sept. 26, 2018

SIMCOE – Hunters planning on hunting in the December deer hunts should purchase their licenses early as there will be a period when there will be no license sales prior to the start of the hunt.

From November 19 to December 31, 2018, licences requiring a game seal will not be available for purchase anywhere. All fishing and hunting licences not requiring a game seal will be available for sale, except for a period from Nov. 19 to 25, when no fishing or hunting licences will be available.

“I urge all hunters taking part in the local controlled deer hunt to ensure they have their license in early November,” said Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett. “There will be no deer licenses available after Nov. 19 until next year. No exceptions will be made.”

After the new system is in place, it will be simpler for anglers and hunters.

“The new fish and wildlife licensing service that we are launching in November will make getting outdoors easier for hunters and anglers. The service will be easy to use, with new features like a mobile Licence Summary and a single Outdoors Card,” said Jeff Yurek, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry.
