Carr lauded in Ontario Legislature

QUEEN’S PARK – Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett paid tribute to Annaleise Carr’s Radical Crossing 2.0 in the Ontario Legislature earlier today.

Carr plans to set a new record this weekend by swimming the longest distance crossing Lake Erie. Her plans are to leave Erie, Pennsylvania and land in Port Dover, 75 kilometers from where she started.

“Those of you who were here in the last term will remember her as a legislative page,” Barrett said. “Most will remember the headlines she made, both provincially and internationally, by becoming the youngest person swim across Lake Ontario.”

Barrett made his colleagues aware Carr’s effort is a fundraiser for Camp Trillium, a facility for children with cancer.

Barrett encourages the public to donate to this cause – he plans to. Donations can be made online through the web site www.annaleisecarr.com,” he said.
