HAGERSVILLE – Draw dates for big game entry draws are approaching.
The moose draw opened April 22 and runs until June 2. Antlerless deer applications are already being accepted and continue until June 30. Applications for elk hunting, which is a relatively new opportunity in Ontario with a limited number of tags, are available May 1 to June 10. The controlled deer hunt draw for Southwestern Ontario is open from Aug. 1 to Sept. 2. Any farmer or landowner who wants to submit an application must do so in person at a ServiceOntario location.
“Every year my office receives calls from hunters who missed the deadlines,” Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett said. “Applying on time is the best method, and now you can apply online from the comfort of your own home.”
Many Outdoors Cards expire on Dec. 31. Ensure your card is up to date prior to attempting to apply for a license as the deadline looms.
