Grant to assist with business PPE costs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Nov. 18, 2020

QUEEN’S PARK – Main street businesses that incurred costs associated with COVID-19 safety measures can now apply for a grant to cover the costs from the Ontario government.

The grant will cover up to $1,000 for the costs of personal protective equipment for eligible businesses. Small businesses with two to nine employees in the retail, accommodations and food services, repair and maintenance and personal and laundry services sector can apply for this one-time grant.

Eligible businesses, whether applying for the Main Street Relief Grant for PPE or for property tax or energy rebates in affected regions, will be able to apply to both through one application on a new online portal.

“This grant is another step in Ontario’s support for its small business,” said Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett. “I encourage eligible businesses to look at this, and other support mechanisms, from the province.”
