Have your say on our education system

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oct. 22, 2018

QUEEN’S PARK – Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett is encouraging parents to have their say in a review in Ontario’s review of the education system.

Feedback from the consultations will be used to:

  1. Improve student performance in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
  2. Prepare students with needed job skills, such as skilled trades and coding
  3. Improve provincial standardized testing
  4. Ensure students graduate with important life skills, including financial literacy
  5. Manage the use of technology in classrooms, such as cell phones
  6. Build a new age-appropriate Health and Physical Education curriculum that includes subjects like mental health, sexual health education and the legalization of cannabis
  7. Develop a first-ever Parents’ Bill of Rights

Input can be done via e-mail, a telephone town hall or online survey. More details are available online at https://www.ontario.ca/page/for-the-parents
