QUEEN’S PARK – Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett is encouraging parents to have their say in a review in Ontario’s review of the education system.
Feedback from the consultations will be used to:
- Improve student performance in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
- Prepare students with needed job skills, such as skilled trades and coding
- Improve provincial standardized testing
- Ensure students graduate with important life skills, including financial literacy
- Manage the use of technology in classrooms, such as cell phones
- Build a new age-appropriate Health and Physical Education curriculum that includes subjects like mental health, sexual health education and the legalization of cannabis
- Develop a first-ever Parents’ Bill of Rights
