Hunting licenses now on sale

SIMCOE – Ontario hunters can now purchase turkey, bear and deer licenses, as well as apply to many big game draws.

Wild turkey, deer and bear licenses went on sale March 1. Additional deer tags will be available July 7, and fall turkey tags on Sept. 1.

Applications for antlerless deer draws opened on March 1 and will run until June 30. Controlled deer hunt applications, which cover the shotgun and muzzleloader hunt in Haldimand and Norfolk Counties, will run from Aug. 1 to 31. Tags for the elk hunt can be applied for between April 15 and June 10.

There are big changes coming to the moose draw system in Ontario this year. Hunters can now see how many points they have by logging in to the Ontario licensing site at https://www.huntandfishontario.com Details of how many points are needed for different wildlife management units and the application process will be available when the hunting regulations are released in April.
