Legislature reconvenes July 2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
June 27, 2014

SIMCOE – The Ontario Legislature resumes on July 2.

For members of the Official Opposition, the first order of business will be electing an interim leader on July 2. That will be followed by a group swearing-in ceremony for MPPs.

The Speech from the Throne will be at 2 p.m. to officially launch the agenda of the newly-elected government.

Also during July, the government’s budget will be debated.

“My first thoughts on the budget are when the premier first became leader she made a commitment for a zero deficit in three years,” said MPP Toby Barrett. “However, her hand-picked economist Don Drummond has projected a $30.2 billion deficit in three years. I feel this is worthy of debate.”
