Simcoe – Despite the cold damp weather Saturday, area people upset with green energy projects in Haldimand and Norfolk rallied in Ingersoll hoping to catch the attention of Liberal Leadership hopefuls.

“I commend local organizers for bringing out many people who were able to introduce green energy issues – biogas and wind turbines – not only to Toronto media but to the leadership candidates,” Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett said. Barrett was in attendance and said there was an impressive presence of signs and trucks that did not go unnoticed.

The three local groups represented in Ingersoll at the first leadership debate included: Norfolk Victims of Wind Turbines, Haldimand Wind Concerns, and RAGE (Residents Against Green Energy) who are fighting against a proposed biogas facility at the former Bick’s tank farm in Delhi.
