The MNR currently has a private gas well policy posted to the Environmental Registry. This notice was first published April 26, 2011 with a 45 day comment period. The policy was re-published on June 9, 2011 to extend the comment period to July 8, 2011. It can be viewed here.
The purpose of this posting is to consult on a draft internal operating policy directive to define the licensing criteria for private wells which have not been previously licensed under the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act.
