QUEEN’S PARK – Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett rose in the Ontario Legislature today to plug the Norfolk County Fair.
The largest rural fair in Ontario, opens Tuesday and will feature a musical line-up Barrett was proud tohighlight. He mentioned headliners Carly Rae Jepsen, Big and Rich and the acts of Gary Wright, Christopher Cross and John Ford Coley performing on Sail Rock night. Barrett also mentioned the Wild West show, demolition derby and monster trucks.
“However, the fair doesn’t forget its roots,” he continued. “It’s the Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show: goat and cattle shows, sheep—I know I present a trophy at the sheep show—horse hitching, cow milking, sheep shearing. You will also see at the fair a collection of pumpkins that are well over 1,000 pounds and I know I’m going and try to load one of them on my 1953 Chev truck.”
